IDC Receptacle for Discrete or Ribbon Cable
It terminates 26 AWG discrete or ribbon cable directly via insulation displacement, eliminating the need for separate crimp terminals. The closed-end design prevents wire over-insertion and protects the last contact position, which is useful when the cable is cut to length at the harness board. The Blue housing color is a visual identifier for this specific variant within the MTA-100 family.
Tin Contact Finish and 26 AWG Wire Range
This thickness is well above the typical flash level, providing a durable mating surface for moderate cycle counts in a controlled environment. The tin finish is suited for applications where the mated pair is not frequently disconnected, as tin-on-tin interfaces can wear with repeated cycling. For a harness build, confirm the wire insulation diameter is compatible with the slot geometry — the MTA-100 IDC slot is designed for a specific insulation range, and off-spec wire may not terminate reliably.
This receptacle is free-hanging (in-line) with a right-angle cable exit. The single-row, 12-position layout mates with a 12-position MTA-100 header of the same pitch.
