MTA-156 Receptacle for Discrete or Ribbon Cable
It uses a 0.156" (3.96mm) pitch in a single-row layout, with tin-plated female sockets rated for the standard MTA-156 current levels. The red housing includes a closed end to prevent wire stubbing and a polarizing key that aligns with the matching header to prevent mis-mating.
IDC Termination and Wire Prep
Termination is insulation displacement — no wire stripping, no crimp tool. Works with discrete wires or ribbon cable; the closed end keeps the last wire from pushing through the housing. On-site re-pinning is straightforward if a terminal fails — cut the wire, strip it, and use a new receptacle if the slot is damaged.
This receptacle mates with the standard MTA-156 header (0.156" pitch, straight or right-angle, through-hole). The polarizing key on the closed end ensures the receptacle can only be inserted one way — no reversed connections in the harness.
Contact Finish and Durability
Tin is the standard for moderate-cycle applications; if the harness sees frequent reconnections or a corrosive environment, a gold-plated version of the MTA-156 receptacle would be the better call.
