Closed-End Housing and Wire Routing
The closed-end feature means the back of the receptacle is sealed — no open slot for stray strands or debris to sneak into the contact area. This matters when the harness routes through a cabinet where other cables brush against the connector body. The red colour is the standard MTA-100 tint for this position count; if you are replacing a faded white or natural housing in an existing assembly, the red body is a visual match for the original TE part.
No secondary TPA here — the IDC forks grip the conductor insulation and the ramp does the rest.
