MTA-156 IDC Receptacle, 12 Circuits
The 0.156" (3.96mm) pitch matches the standard MTA-156 header footprint, and the closed-end housing with a polarizing key prevents mis-mating or partial insertion in harness assembly. The red housing colour aids visual line identification on the assembly bench.
Termination and Wire Fit
IDC termination accepts 22 AWG wire directly — the insulation is displaced by the contact tines as the cover is pressed down, making a gas-tight joint. No crimp tool, no contact loading: the wire is simply laid into the slot and the housing closed. The free-hanging (in-line) mount means this receptacle is the cable-side half, mating with a through-hole or surface-mount header on the board.
Polarizing Key and Closed End
The polarizing key in the housing aligns with a corresponding slot in the mating header, ensuring the connector can only be mated one way. The closed end blocks the last cavity, which prevents a terminal from being inserted in the wrong position and also acts as a visual cue that the connector is fully populated. Together they reduce the risk of mis-wiring in a multi-connector harness.
