Rated to 4 GHz maximum frequency with a specified insertion loss of 0.6 dB. The PTFE dielectric is the standard choice for RF connectors — stable dielectric constant across temperature and low loss up through microwave frequencies.
Cable Prep and Termination — Crimp the Braid, Solder the Pin
This plug is designed for RG-174, RG-188, and RG-316 (double braid) — the three most common small-diameter coax cables in RF test leads, short antenna jumpers, and internal equipment wiring. The right-angle body means the cable exits 90 degrees from the mating axis. This is a deliberate choice for board-edge or panel-mount applications where a straight plug would hit an enclosure wall. The trade-off is a slightly trickier cable prep — the centre conductor has to bend inside the body, so use a cable with a flexible enough centre conductor (stranded, not solid) to avoid breaking it during assembly.
Rated for 500 mating cycles. That's the point at which the gold-on-beryllium-copper contact starts to show wear through the plating and the contact resistance may begin to rise. For a permanent installation that's mated once and left, the 500-cycle rating is effectively infinite. The snap-on retention is fast but not lockable — vibration can work it loose, so use a cable tie or adhesive strain relief if the assembly will see mechanical shock.
