The TE Connectivity 414026-2 is an SMB receptacle with a male center pin — an SMB interface that mates with a plug carrying a female center contact.
Construction and signal path
The body is brass with a gold finish, and the center contact is brass with gold plating — the gold-on-gold mating interface delivers the corrosion resistance and low contact resistance needed to hold the 50 Ohm impedance through repeated matings. The dielectric is PTFE, which keeps the insertion loss to 0.6 dB across the band and supports the -65°C to 165°C operating range. Shield termination is by solder, and the contact termination is solder as well — both joints are made during the same soldering step.
Rated for 500 mating cycles, this SMB receptacle will hold up through multiple test hookups or field-service reconnections without the center contact losing its grip. The snap-on fastening type gives a positive tactile lock — you feel it engage — and the right-angle orientation keeps the cable low to the board, reducing strain on the solder joints in a cramped enclosure.
