Board-fit and contact design
The 487925-2 is a 14-position, vertical through-hole FFC connector from TE's AMPMODU series. This avoids stubbing or bending the contact beams during insertion — a real risk on non-ZIF connectors when the operator is working blind inside a panel.
Through-hole solder termination — the connector body sits 0.310" (7.87mm) above the board. That z-height is tight enough for most card-cage or enclosure clearances, but check your board-to-cover gap before layout finalizes. Accepts 0.12mm-thick FFC, straight cable end type. The connector contacts only one side of the flex (vertical, 1-sided), so the cable must be oriented with the pads facing the contact beam. Black thermoplastic housing and actuator — the slide lock stays flush when engaged, no protruding lever to snag on adjacent wiring.
No official pin-compatible replacement or second-source listed. The base product number 487925 covers the family; the -2 suffix identifies this 14-position, tin-plated variant.
