Barrier Strip for Panel Wiring — 6 Circuits, 20 A at the Screw
The TE Connectivity Buchanan 4DB-P107-06 is a 6-circuit barrier strip with a 0.325" (8.26mm) pitch, designed for through-hole mounting with PC pin bottom termination and screw top termination. It accepts wire from 12 AWG down to 22 AWG, making it a fit for branch-circuit power distribution inside industrial control panels, HVAC equipment, and appliance junction boxes.
Rated 20 A per circuit at 150 V, the 4DB-P107-06 carries enough current for a typical lighting or small-motor branch circuit without derating at room ambient. The limiting factor is the screw termination on 12-22 AWG wire — at the full 20 A, the terminal screw (steel with zinc clear chromate finish) must be torqued to the manufacturer's specification to keep contact resistance low. The 150 V rating is conservative for the 0.325" pitch; the dual-wall barrier adds creepage distance between adjacent terminals, which supports the voltage rating in dusty or humid cabinet environments.
Mounting and Termination — Through-Hole PC Pins
This barrier strip terminates at the board with PC pins (bottom termination) and accepts field wiring via screws on the top. The through-hole mounting requires a drilled PCB with 0.325" (8.26mm) center-to-center hole spacing for the six circuits in a single row. The steel terminal screws with zinc clear chromate finish resist corrosion in non-sealed enclosures; the screw head accepts a standard slotted or Phillips driver. Wire is stripped, inserted under the screw head, and clamped — no crimp terminal required, which simplifies field wiring but means the screw torque must be consistent to avoid loosening under thermal cycling.
The UL94 V-0 insulation and 105°C operating temperature cover the thermal requirements for most industrial control and appliance applications.
