Cable-to-Header IDC Receptacle for 0.100" Pin Strips
The 5-102398-7: It accepts 22-26 AWG wire and uses insulation displacement contacts — no wire stripping, just a mass-termination press. The closed-end housing acts as a positive stop for the cable, so the conductor alignment is consistent across the row.
Wiring and Termination
This is a free-hanging (in-line) receptacle, so it terminates to the cable end, not to a PCB. The IDC termination presses the conductor into a bifurcated beam that pierces the insulation — no crimp tool, no solder. The 22-26 AWG range covers common signal wiring for ribbon cable assemblies and discrete harnesses.
Mating and Compatibility
The primary mating half is any 0.100" (2.54mm) pitch, dual-row, square-post header with 18 positions. The closed-end feature means the cable jacket butts against the housing back, so the stripped or unstripped conductor length is self-limiting. This is a standard AMPMODU MT series part, so it shares the same housing profile and latch geometry as other members of the family.
