2-Position IDC Receptacle for Signal Harnesses
The TE Connectivity AMPMODU MTE 5-103957-1 is a 2-position receptacle that terminates discrete or ribbon cable via insulation displacement (IDC), eliminating the need for individual crimp terminals.
The IDC slot accepts 22-26 AWG wire — solid or stranded — and the insulation is displaced by the contact tines as the cable is pressed into the housing. No wire stripping or crimping is needed; the termination is done with a simple hand press or bench tool. The 2-position count means this is a single signal pair or a low-current power/return pair in the harness.
Contact Plating and Mating Duty
This plating grade is standard for the AMPMODU MTE signal-level interconnect, not a power-contact flash.
The free-hanging mount means the connector is not board-locked — it floats in the harness and relies on the latch for retention. The closed end prevents the header pins from poking through and damaging the opposite-side wiring.
