Termination and Wiring — IDC Mass Termination
The wire type spec (discrete or ribbon cable) tells you the slot geometry accepts both individual wires and flat ribbon cable, so the same connector works for point-to-point wiring or a ribbon bus. The 22-26 AWG range covers most signal-level wiring in control and instrumentation harnesses. The closed-end feature prevents the wire from pushing through the back of the connector during insertion, which is a practical detail when the assembler is seating multiple wires in a tight harness.
Mating and Retention — Latch Lock Engagement
The latch lock fastening type means the receptacle clicks onto the mating header and stays there until the latch is deliberately released.
