120-Position Mezzanine Plug — Board-Stacking Fit
It uses a dual-row, center strip contact arrangement on a 0.031" (0.80mm) pitch — the tight pitch keeps the board footprint compact while the 120 circuits handle dense signal routing between parallel PCBs. The SMT terminations and integrated board guide simplify pick-and-place assembly and alignment during stacking. This connector is rated for mated stacking heights of 5mm, 9mm, 13mm, and 17mm, giving the designer flexibility to set the z-height between boards in the enclosure.
Stack Height Options
The Free Height FH series achieves different board spacing by pairing this plug with receptacles of varying heights. The 5-5177986-5 itself has a height above board of 0.191" (4.85mm). The mated stack heights of 5mm, 9mm, 13mm, and 17mm are set by the choice of mating receptacle — confirm the receptacle height against your enclosure's z-height budget before specifying.
