0.80 mm Pitch Mezzanine Receptacle for 9–12 mm Board Spacing
At a 0.031" (0.80 mm) pitch, it routes dense signal interconnects between two PCBs without the footprint penalty of a 1.00 mm or wider pitch. The connector uses outer shroud contacts — the receptacle wraps around the mating plug's center strip, which gives the pair inherent polarization and protects the contacts during blind mating.
Mated Stack Height Range: 9 mm to 12 mm
That range covers common card spacing in compact industrial controllers, networking line cards, and test equipment mezzanine assemblies. The actual stack height is determined by the mating plug — the 5-5179180-2 receptacle itself is a fixed-height component. When specifying the board-to-board gap, select the plug variant whose mated height matches the required card pitch. For a 9 mm stack, the mating plug must be the corresponding Free Height plug rated for that height.
