Mates with any standard DB-15 receptacle (female socket) of the same shell size 2 (DA, A). The solder cup termination accepts stranded wire — strip, tin, and solder into the cup. The unthreaded flange allows mounting with standard D-sub hardware (4-40 screw-lock or slide-lock, not included).
The 250 V rating provides ample headroom for most low-voltage signal applications. Gold plating at 8.00 µ" is a mid-grade thickness: sufficient for moderate mating cycles (hundreds) in a controlled environment, but not the heavy-duty 30 µ" gold you would spec for frequent field reconnects or corrosive atmospheres.
