Pin diameter acceptance and contact construction
The 5050935-2 accepts pin diameters from 0.013" to 0.020" (0.33mm to 0.51mm), covering common 0.016" and 0.018" round pins used in discrete wire-to-board and test-point applications.
Closed-bottom, no-tail solder termination
Closed-bottom design blocks solder flux and wicking from entering the contact barrel during wave or hand soldering, preserving the pin-acceptance zone clean for the mating pin. No tail means the socket body sits flush against the PCB surface after soldering — the overall length of 0.168" (4.27mm) and socket depth of 0.155" (3.94mm) leave a shallow profile for tight board-stacking or conformal-coating clearance.
Mounting and thermal range
Requires a mounting hole diameter of 0.040" to 0.041" (1.02mm to 1.04mm) — a standard #60 or 1.0mm drill size fits the flange diameter of 0.059" (1.50mm). Rated for -65°C to 126°C operating temperature, covering military storage and industrial thermal cycling without contact relaxation.
RoHS compliant per TE's current material declaration.
