The 50864 accepts a pin diameter from 0.026" to 0.033" (0.66 mm to 0.84 mm) — that covers standard component leads and header pins in that range. The closed-bottom design means the socket is fully enclosed at the base, so the pin bottoms out inside the socket body rather than passing through. The mounting hole diameter on the PCB should be 0.062" to 0.063" (1.57 mm to 1.60 mm) — drill or spec the board to that range for a press-fit that holds the socket in place during solder reflow.
Contact finish and material — why gold and beryllium copper
Gold at this thickness is typical for applications where the socket sees more than a few insertion cycles — test points, programming headers, or modular boards that get swapped in the field.
