What this pin receptacle does in the board
The 50935 is a single-pin PCB socket from TE Connectivity's Series 1, designed to accept a mating pin diameter of 0.013" to 0.020" (0.33 mm to 0.51 mm). It terminates by solder to the board, with a closed bottom that prevents solder wicking into the contact zone during wave soldering — keeps the grip surface clean for the pin. The contact is beryllium copper with 5.00 µinch gold plating, giving it good spring retention and corrosion resistance for repeated insertions in a corrosive or high-vibration environment.
The mounting hole diameter on the PCB should be 0.040" to 0.041" (1.02 mm to 1.04 mm) — drill to that range for a snug press-fit before solder. Overall length is 0.168" (4.27 mm) from the board surface to the top of the socket; socket depth is 0.155" (3.94 mm), so the mating pin must insert at least that far to make contact. No tail — the socket body sits flush on the board, and the solder joint is at the base of the barrel, not a separate pin.
RoHS compliant, so it's fine for EU and most global BOMs without a waiver. Supplied in bulk packaging — not tape-and-reel, so plan for manual or tube-fed placement in assembly.
