The TE 5173279-3 is a 50-position D-type plug from the AMPLIMITE.050 I series, designed for board-to-board signal interconnect where routing density matters more than per-contact current. The 0.050 inch pitch (0.050 Pitch x 0.100 Row to Row) packs twice the contacts of a standard-density D-sub in the same shell footprint — the layout engineer's first check is whether the board's breakout traces can route between those tighter pads.
Through-hole solder termination, vertical orientation — the plug stands upright on the board with unthreaded housing/shell flanges for panel or bracket mounting.
