0.80mm Pitch Mezzanine Plug for Board-Stacking Applications
It uses a 0.031" (0.80mm) pitch in a dual-row, center-strip contact arrangement, which is a common footprint for high-density signal routing between stacked PCBs.
Stack Height Flexibility and Board Layout Fit
This plug supports mated stacking heights of 6mm, 10mm, 14mm, and 18mm, meaning the same 5179029-2 can be used across multiple board-spacing designs by pairing it with the corresponding Free Height receptacle. For a board layout engineer, the 0.80mm pitch keeps the footprint compact, but the 60 positions in two rows means the connector body is about 24mm long, so plan the keep-out zone accordingly.
Contact Plating and Signal Duty
This is a standard plating thickness for moderate-cycle mezzanine applications — enough for repeated board separation and re-mating during test or rework, but not rated for thousands of cycles like a high-wear I/O connector. The gold layer prevents oxidation on the signal path, which matters for low-level analog or digital signals where contact resistance stability is critical.
