Termination is surface-mount — the plug reflows onto the PCB with the rest of the SMT line. The board guide is a molded alignment feature that engages with the receptacle's guide posts before the contacts touch, preventing stubbing on the fine 0.80 mm pitch. No through-hole anchors; the SMT pads alone carry the mechanical retention, so the mated stack relies on the guide system for shear resistance during handling or vibration.
