Hinged Backshell for D-Sub Cable Assemblies
The TE Connectivity 5206471-1 is a hinged backshell from the AMPLIMITE HD-20 series, designed to terminate and strain-relieve round cable at the back of a D-sub connector. It fits the shell size A, which covers both standard 15-position and high-density 26-position D-subs — the same backshell body works for either contact layout. The gray thermoplastic housing is unshielded, so this part is for signal applications that don't require a continuous shield bond through the backshell.
Includes 4-40 Mating Screws — No Separate Hardware Order
The backshell ships with the 4-40 mating screws already included as assembly hardware — one less line item to source for the BOM. The screws thread into the standard D-sub connector's threaded inserts and tighten down to clamp the cable between the backshell halves. The hinged design lets you open the backshell, dress the cable, close it, and then run the screws down; no loose pieces to lose during assembly.

The shell size A backshell accepts both the standard 15-position D-sub connector and the high-density 26-position version. For a standard 15-position D-sub connector, the screw holes align with the 4-40 threaded inserts on the connector face.
