What This Jackscrew Socket Does in a D-Sub Assembly
The TE Connectivity AMPLIMITE 5207719-3 is a female jackscrew socket — the threaded barrel that screws into the mating half's male screw to lock a D-sub connector pair together. It carries a 4-40 thread on both the socket and the included screw, so it mates with standard D-sub hardware. The threaded portion below the head measures 0.560" (14.22 mm), which sets the panel thickness it can reach through. Hardware is included in the bulk pack — no separate sourcing for the mating screw. This jackscrew is specified for AMPLIMITE Series HD and HDF D-sub connectors — the high-density and high-density filter versions. If you are assembling a cable harness or panel-mount D-sub in those series, this is the correct locking hardware.
The 4-40 thread on both the socket and the screw is the standard UNC size for D-subminiature jack-screws. It mates with the threaded insert in the male D-sub connector shell or a standoff. The 0.560" length below the head means this socket can pass through panels up to about 0.5" thick and still engage the mating thread — check your panel stack-up against that dimension. Because the hardware is included (both the 4-40 socket and the 4-40 screw), there is no need to order a separate screw kit. The bulk packaging means you get loose hardware for bench assembly rather than tape-and-reel.
Compatibility and Connector Fit
This jackscrew socket is designed for use with AMPLIMITE Series HD and HDF connectors. Those are TE's high-density D-sub families — the HD series uses 0.090" contact spacing, the HDF series adds filtering. If you are building a cable or panel assembly with one of those connectors, this jackscrew provides the locking mechanism.
If you are replacing an existing BOM line, verify the thread size and length match your assembly. The 4-40 thread and 0.560" length are the critical fit parameters.
