D-Sub Receptacle for Signal Interconnects
The TE Connectivity AMPLIMITE HD-20 5207827-3 is a 15-position D-Sub receptacle with female sockets arranged in two rows. It uses the standard DA shell size (2, DA, A), which is the common footprint for 15-pin D-Sub layouts. Rated 6A per contact at 125V, this connector handles signal-level currents and low-power distribution in control, instrumentation, and data interface applications.
Contacts are phosphor bronze with gold flash plating (contact finish thickness: Flash). Gold flash provides corrosion resistance and reliable low-level signal contact for moderate mating cycles — typically 50 to 200 cycles depending on environmental conditions. For applications requiring frequent field mating or high-cycle test connections, a connector with thicker gold plating (15 µ" or more) would be more appropriate. The mating side is gold; the solder tail termination is unplated phosphor bronze, which solders reliably with activated flux.
Mounting and Panel Integration
This receptacle has an unthreaded housing/shell flange (Flange Feature: Housing/Shell (Unthreaded)). It does not include integrated jackscrews or threaded inserts. For panel-mount applications where vibration resistance or secure mating is needed, you will need separate #4-40 UNC hardware — either jackscrews or a threaded standoff kit — to lock the mating pair together. The flange has clearance holes for standard D-sub hardware. The through-hole solder tails are on 0.108-inch (2.74 mm) row spacing, matching the standard D-sub footprint.
