25-Position Hinged Backshell for D-Sub Cable Assemblies
The TE Connectivity AMPLIMITE HD-20 5207908-7 is a hinged backshell designed to terminate round cable to standard 25-position D-sub connectors and HD-44 connectors. It accepts both 90° and 180° cable exit, giving you routing flexibility inside the enclosure or along the panel. The black polypropylene body keeps weight low and resists shop-floor chemicals. Mating screws (4-40) and strain relief hardware are included, so you don't have to chase separate parts for a finished assembly.
Cable Exit and Strain Relief
This backshell handles round cable with a hinged clamshell that closes over the cable jacket. The strain relief clamps the cable firmly — give it strain relief or it'll pull apart in the field. You can orient the cable exit at 90° to the connector face for tight spaces or straight out at 180° for a straight-line cable run. The hardware included with the assembly secures the backshell halves together and to the D-sub connector.
The 5207908-7 fits standard 25-position D-sub connectors (shell size B) and also works with HD-44 connectors, which share the same shell size. The 4-40 threaded inserts in the backshell accept the jack-screws from the mating D-sub connector — no adapter needed. The black polypropylene body is unshielded, so if you need EMI/RFI containment, pair it with a shielded cable and a metal backshell instead.
