Construction and Materials
Zinc body with nickel finish — the nickel gives a corrosion-resistant surface that holds up to handling and maintains the ground path through the shell. The centre contact is beryllium copper with gold plating, a combination that keeps contact resistance low over the 500-cycle life and resists fretting corrosion in environments with vibration or thermal cycling. The dielectric is PTFE, which maintains a stable 50 Ohm impedance across the temperature range and has low loss at RF frequencies.
