The 4 GHz frequency ceiling covers most BNC-bandwidth applications up to the low microwave range; above 4 GHz the return loss climbs and a higher-frequency interface (SMA, N-type) would be the better choice. 500 mating cycles is the standard BNC endurance — the bayonet coupling wears the detent over time, but for panel-mount test points or equipment front panels that cycle a few times a day, this is well within the service life. The right-angle through-hole termination means the signal pin and shield legs solder into the PCB with the connector body sitting flush against the panel — the board footprint must account for the right-angle tail position relative to the bulkhead nut.
