The TE Connectivity 5406435-1 is a right-angle through-hole modular jack with a 6P6C contact arrangement, accepting RJ11, RJ12, RJ14, and RJ25 plugs. The shielded shell bleeds EMI from the cable shield to the chassis ground before the signal reaches the PCB, which keeps common-mode noise off the twisted pairs in a Cat3-rated link.
Board Retention and Panel Fit
Integrated board-lock features anchor the jack to the PCB during wave-solder and resist the shear force from repeated plug insertion and cable tugging. Panel stops set the depth when the jack is mounted flush against a panel cutout, so the shielded shell makes consistent ground contact with the chassis.
