Right-Angle SMT RJ45 Jack for Standard Ethernet
The TE Connectivity 5406721-2 is an 8p8c (RJ45) modular jack from the A-RJ45 series, terminated by solder to a surface-mount pad layout. The unshielded construction keeps the part light and cost-effective for office or consumer Ethernet applications where conducted EMI is not a concern.
Mounting and PCB Retention
The jack carries a board lock and panel stops. The board lock anchors the part during SMT reflow and resists shear from cable strain after soldering. The panel stops set the correct depth against the chassis cutout so the RJ45 plug seats fully without over-travel. The tab direction is up, meaning the latch on the mating RJ45 plug faces upward when the board is horizontal.
