SMB Plug for RG-174, RG-188, RG-316 — 50 Ohm, 3 GHz
It ships as a three-piece kit: the connector body, an end cap, and a crimp ferrule — one order code covers the full assembly for terminating RG-174, RG-188, or RG-316 double-braid cable.
Cable Termination and RF Performance
Shield termination is crimp; the centre contact is soldered. Insertion loss is 0.6 dB at the rated frequency — typical for a snap-on SMB interface at 3 GHz. The 500 mating cycles are above the 250-cycle baseline for many SMB connectors, giving this plug a longer service life in test or field-swap applications.
The body is zinc with a nickel finish; the centre contact is gold-plated. The snap-on fastening provides a positive lock without a threaded coupling — quick to mate and unmated, but the retention force is lower than a threaded interface, so it suits low-vibration indoor or bench environments rather than heavy machinery.
