Termination is solder: the centre contact and shield both solder to the coaxial cable. The right-angle through-hole pins route the signal to the PCB after the cable is attached. The bulkhead flange with front-side nut clamps the connector to the panel, taking the strain off the solder joints.
The 4 GHz frequency ceiling is the practical limit for this BNC — beyond that, the interface geometry starts to degrade the signal. For sub-4 GHz work, this connector is a cost-effective alternative to an SMA, especially where the bayonet quick-mate is preferred over a threaded coupling. If your application needs more than 500 reconnects, look at a gold-plated SMA or TNC with a threaded coupling, which typically rates higher cycle life.
