8P8C RJ45 Jack for Industrial Ethernet and Panel-Mount Applications
The 5520259-4: Board lock features anchor the part during wave solder and resist vibration in panel-mount installations; panel stops control the insertion depth against the chassis face.

Mechanical Retention: Board Lock and Panel Stops
The integrated board lock holds the jack in place during the solder process and provides mechanical retention against cable strain after assembly. Panel stops set a consistent depth when the jack is mounted through a cutout in the enclosure or panel — no need for a separate spacer or alignment fixture. This combination simplifies the build sequence for panel-mount Ethernet ports.
Unshielded Design: When to Use It
This jack is unshielded, so it relies on the system's overall EMI strategy rather than providing a local shield can for cable-side grounding. It is a good fit for applications where the cable run is inside a grounded metal enclosure, or where the Ethernet PHY and routing are already isolated from noise sources. For runs through high-EMI environments or where the cable exits the enclosure, a shielded jack with a drain wire termination would be the alternative.
