64-Position IDC Receptacle with Threaded Flange
The TE Connectivity 552307-1 is a 64-position receptacle from the CHAMP.085 series, terminated via IDC for mass-termination to 0.085-inch pitch ribbon cable. The tapped, threaded 4-40 flange lets you bolt this connector to a panel or bracket, which is what you want when vibration is trying to work the connector loose. The outer shroud contacts mean the mating interface is shielded — the pins are recessed inside the shroud, protecting them from damage and providing some EMI containment.
IDC Termination and Field Repair
IDC termination means you can mass-terminate 64 conductors in one press operation with a basic hand tool or bench press — no individual wire stripping or crimping. That makes this receptacle field-repairable: if a contact goes intermittent, you re-terminate a fresh end of ribbon cable on site rather than swapping a whole harness. The 2-row layout keeps the cable exit neat and the overall width manageable for routing inside an enclosure.
Mounting and Panel Integration
The tapped 4-40 threaded flange is the standout feature for panel-mount applications. You run a screw through the panel into the flange and the connector stays put — no rattling, no backing out. This is the right choice for a bulkhead feedthrough or any installation where the cable gets tugged or the equipment vibrates. The free-hanging (in-line) mount style means the receptacle sits on the cable, not soldered to a PCB, so you can route it to wherever the panel hole is.
