50-Position CHAMP .085 Receptacle for Backplane I/O
It uses an outer shroud contact arrangement — the contacts are recessed inside a metal or plastic shroud that protects them during mating and unmating, a design that reduces pin damage compared to open-pin headers. The 2-row, 50-position layout fits a standard.085-inch contact pitch, giving you a dense but serviceable interconnect for parallel board-to-cable or panel-mount applications. This is not a low-cycle tin-plated part; the gold thickness tells you it was specified for field-serviceable connections where the connector may be unmated several times over the equipment life.
Termination is through-hole solder, with the flange feature on the board side. The flange provides a positive mechanical stop and a surface for the solder fillet to wick up, giving the joint shear strength against cable strain. The vertical (straight) orientation means the receptacle stands upright on the PCB, so the mating cable plug enters perpendicular to the board — typical for backplane or daughtercard I/O panels where the cable bundle runs parallel to the board plane.
The tray packaging (50-position receptacle in a single tray) is standard for this series; if you need a different packaging quantity, note it on the RFQ.
