SCSI Receptacle for Parallel Bus Termination
The TE Connectivity 5554216-3 is a 50-position SCSI receptacle from the CHAMP.085 series, designed as the board-side half of a parallel SCSI cable interconnect. The connector style uses outer shroud contacts that wrap around the mating plug's blade contacts, providing a shielded enclosure around the signal path. The bail lock on the shell engages with the mating cable plug for tool-less retention — no jack-screws needed, which speeds field service on drive bays or backplane I/O panels. The 50 contacts are arranged in two rows, terminated through-hole to the PCB.
The solder termination is compatible with wave-solder assembly; the through-hole format gives a stronger anchor than SMT for a cable connector that sees lever-out forces from the bail lock.
