Right-Angle Shielded Jack That Won't Let the Port Wobble
The TE 5555140-4 is a 6P6C modular jack — it accepts RJ11, RJ12, RJ14, and RJ25 plugs — in a right-angle, through-hole package with a shielded shell and an integrated EMI finger. Board locks and panel stops take the shear off the solder joints when the cable gets yanked, and the EMI finger bleeds chassis noise before it reaches the signal pins.
Cat3 Rating Means 10/100BASE-T — Not Gigabit
The Cat3 rating limits this jack to 10BASE-T and 100BASE-T Ethernet and analog telephony. It is not rated for Gigabit or PoE+ loads.
Shielding That Actually Grounds Through the Board
The shielded shell with EMI finger mates to the panel cutout and the PCB ground plane through the through-hole solder tails. The board lock holds the jack flat during wave solder.
