The TE Connectivity 5557314-1 is a 6p6c modular jack — it accepts RJ11, RJ12, RJ14, and RJ25 plugs. Rated Cat3, it handles voice and low-speed data up to 16 MHz, not gigabit Ethernet.
Board Fit and Footprint Notes
Single-row, single-port, unshielded — no metal cage to ground. The right-angle SMT footprint needs a keep-out zone for the jack body behind the PCB edge; the board lock adds two extra solder pads for mechanical retention. Tab direction is down, so the plug latch faces the board side. Cat3 rating means the jack is not tested for Cat5e or higher crosstalk/return-loss limits. For 10/100Base-T or PoE applications, look at the shielded Cat5e+ variants in the same 5557314 base series.
