0.050" Pitch Edge Connector for Dense Card Interfaces
The TE Connectivity 5650090-2 is a 90-position dual-readout edge card connector from the Standard Edge.050 series, built for dense board-to-card interconnects where PCB real estate is tight. The 0.050" (1.27mm) pitch packs 90 circuits into a compact footprint — each side of the card edge carries 45 pads read by the dual-row contact arrangement. The integrated board guide steers the card into alignment before the contacts engage, protecting the fine-pitch terminals from stubbing damage during assembly.
Dual Readout and Staggered Termination
Dual readout means the connector reads pads on both faces of the card edge — the 90 positions are split across two rows, with 11 positions in one bay and 34 in the other per the position-per-bay layout. The staggered solder tails break the through-hole pattern into two offset rows, which reduces the risk of solder bridging at the tight 0.050" pitch during wave or hand soldering. The card thickness spec is 0.062" (1.57mm), a standard PCB thickness that keeps the card rigid in the slot without excessive insertion force.
Temperature Range and Material Choices
ROHS3 compliance is listed, so the connector meets the current EU restriction directive for lead and other substances.
