It terminates via solder cups to a through-hole PCB, with the steel shell providing RFI/EMI shielding. The housing is black glass-filled nylon rated UL94 V-0, and the shell is tin-plated steel. Gold-plated phosphor bronze contacts handle the signal path; the unthreaded flange allows panel mounting with standard hardware.
Each contact is rated 6 A at a maximum working voltage of 125 V.
Gold-Plated Contacts for Repeated Mating Cycles
The mating side of each phosphor bronze contact carries a gold finish. The solder tail side is not plated for the wipe; the gold is on the mating surface only, which is standard for signal-grade D-subs.
Unthreaded Flange — Panel Mounting with Separate Hardware
The housing/shell flange is unthreaded, meaning there are no integral jackscrews or threaded inserts. Panel mounting requires separate screws and nuts, or a mating D-sub plug with threaded inserts.
Mating Half: Standard DE-9 Plug
This receptacle mates with any standard DE-9 (DB-9) male plug that follows the EIA-574 shell layout. The shell size 1 (DE, E) footprint is industry-standard for 9-position D-subs. The unthreaded flange accepts a male plug with 4-40 threaded inserts or a slide-lock system. No keying or polarization beyond the standard D-shell shape — the shell itself prevents reverse mating.
