DE-9 Receptacle with Press-Fit Termination
It terminates via press-fit pins into a plated through-hole board — no soldering required, which makes it a clean fit for backplane assemblies and high-reliability builds where thermal stress from wave soldering is a concern. The steel shell with tin plating provides EMI shielding when mated to a conductive backshell or panel.
Mounting and Retention Hardware
The receptacle includes a housing/shell flange with 4-40 threaded inserts — the standard D-sub locking interface. This lets you secure the mated pair with jackscrews or screw-lock posts, which is essential for cable assemblies routed through vibrating equipment or panels that see frequent disconnect. The press-fit tails are designed for a through-hole board; the interference fit holds the connector in place during handling before any secondary retention is applied.
