25-Position D-Sub Plug for Board-Edge I/O
It belongs to the AMPLIMITE HD-20 series, TE's standard-density D-subminiature line for industrial I/O, serial communications, and instrumentation interfaces. This is the DB-25 shell size (3/B layout), the most widely used position count for parallel printer ports, RS-232 serial ports, and general-purpose signal interconnection. Gold flash contacts on brass terminals handle the rated 6A per circuit at 125V.
Through-hole solder termination — the pins pass through the PCB and are wave-soldered. The 4-40 threaded inserts on the housing flange accept standard D-Sub jackscrews for secure mating with the receptacle half. The backset spacing of 0.318" (8.08mm) sets the distance from the PCB edge to the connector face, which must match the enclosure cutout and the mating cable connector's shell length. The mating connector is a standard DB-25 receptacle (female) housing with 4-40 threaded sockets — any TE AMPLIMITE HD-20 or industry-standard DB-25 female connector with the same shell size and thread pattern will mate. The 25-position count must match on both halves; pin 1 is typically marked on the shell or by a chamfered corner on the D-shell.
Materials and Environmental Ratings
The steel shell is tin-plated, compatible with lead-free soldering processes.
