37-Position Right-Angle D-Sub for Board-Edge I/O
The TE Connectivity AMPLIMITE HD-20 5747252-4 is a 37-position D-Sub plug with male pins, terminated through-hole at a right angle. The 37 circuits fill the full DC shell size (4, C layout), making this the high-density end of the standard HD-20 position range — not a 9- or 15-position variant you might grab for a serial port.
Gold Flash Contacts and 6A Signal Duty
Contacts are brass with gold flash plating. Flash gold is a thin deposit — adequate for the mating cycle count of a typical panel-mate application, but not a heavy-duty cycle life like you would spec for a repeatedly disconnected test cable. The 6A per-contact rating is standard signal-grade for a D-sub of this density; the limiting factor is the pin-to-pin spacing in the 4 shell, not the contact itself. Voltage rating is 125V. For a 37-position connector carrying parallel I/O lines, the aggregate current through the connector stays well under the temperature rise ceiling of the UL94 V-0 thermoplastic housing.
Mounting and Shell Hardware
The shell is steel with tin plating, and the flange carries 4-40 threaded inserts for the standard D-sub jack-screw or slide-lock hardware. Backset spacing is 0.318" (8.08mm) — the dimension from the PCB mounting face to the front of the shell, which sets how far the connector protrudes past the board edge. The connector ships in a tray.
