Gold contact finish on brass pins, rated 6 A per contact at 125 V, with the current per circuit set by the contact size and the voltage rating by the 0.590-inch (14.99 mm) backset spacing that gives creepage across the shell. This is the plug half for a cable-to-board D-sub interconnect, common in industrial control, serial communication, and instrumentation where a field-serviceable, screw-lock-secured connection is needed.
The unthreaded housing flange accepts standard D-sub screw-lock hardware (4-40 UNC) for vibration-resistant mating; the hardware is not included. Termination is solder to through-hole PCB pads — the right-angle pins exit the rear of the shell and bend 90 degrees to sit flat on the board. The 0.590-inch backset spacing leaves room for a mating connector's backshell or cable strain relief behind the panel.
