Board Lock and Ground Strap — Retention and Shielding
This receptacle includes a board lock and a ground strap. The mating-side female screwlock (4-40) secures the cable-side plug and prevents the pair from walking apart under mechanical shock.
At this thickness the plating supports repeated mating cycles — typically several hundred — without exposing the base metal to oxidation, which keeps contact resistance stable in environments with humidity or mild corrosive atmosphere.
