Board-Edge D-Sub for I/O and Control
The TE Connectivity 5747846-4 is a 25-position D-Sub receptacle from the AMPLIMITE HD-20 series, configured for right-angle through-hole mounting. The 25 contacts are arranged in two rows, which is the standard DB-25 layout — the same footprint used for RS-232 serial, parallel printer, and general-purpose I/O interfaces.
Mating and Footprint
This is the receptacle (female socket) half of a D-Sub pair. It mates with any standard male plug that uses the same shell size and 4-40 threaded inserts. The flange feature is housing/shell (4-40), so the mating plug must have female 4-40 screw-locks or captive jackscrews to secure the pair. The right-angle solder tails are designed for through-hole boards. The board layout must accommodate the 0.318" backset and the two rows of 25 holes at the standard 0.108" row-to-row spacing. The board locks require plated through-holes at the flange locations for soldered retention.
