The shell is shielded thermoplastic (UL94 V-0 rated), which bleeds EMI to chassis ground through the PCB solder pads — the shield path is part of the footprint, so the board layout needs a ground plane connection at the mounting holes. The push-pull fastening with keyed orientation prevents mismating with non-keyed plugs.
