Mini DIN 6-Position Shielded Receptacle — TE 5749265-1
The Mini DIN shell size is the standard 6-pin form factor common to consumer and pro-AV gear, keyboard/mouse ports, and low-speed data interfaces. The shell is shielded, which reduces radiated noise pickup on the signal lines — a practical requirement for analog audio paths and composite video where a few millivolts of coupled noise degrades signal quality.
Each contact carries line-level audio, control signals, or low-current sensor outputs; the connector is not sized for a supply rail or motor drive. The 30 VDC rating keeps it inside SELV limits for most equipment.
Through-hole right-angle mounting with solder termination. The push-pull fastening type is the standard Mini DIN latching mechanism: push to mate, pull back on the cable-side plug to release. No screw lock or bayonet — the retention comes from the detent spring inside the shell, which holds against light cable tug but not high-vibration environments.
