Board-Edge Right-Angle D-Sub, 20 Positions, Shielded
The shell is steel with nickel plating, and the housing carries a full metal shield bonded to the shell, so the connector provides continuous 360° coverage around the contact area for EMI containment. The 0.050-inch contact pitch and 0.100-inch row-to-row spacing give it a compact footprint for a 20-position D-sub — roughly half the width of a standard-density DB-25 shell. The dielectric housing is rated UL94 V-0. The flange includes integrated latchblocks and rails, plus threaded inserts for 2-56 jackscrews — the same hole pattern as a standard D-sub shell, so it mates with any AMPLIMITE.050 III plug or standard D-sub with the same shell layout. The backset spacing of 0.146 inches (3.71 mm) sets the PCB edge distance for the right-angle mount.
This receptacle is shielded — the steel shell and metal housing form a continuous EMI barrier around the contact area. For a signal-path connector rated at 1 A and 30 V, the shielding is the main defence against coupled noise from nearby power lines or switching supplies inside the enclosure. The nickel-plated shell also provides a low-impedance path to chassis ground when the mating plug's shell contacts the receptacle flange.
