DE-9 Right-Angle D-Sub for Board-Edge I/O
The 9 contacts in a dual-row DE-9 (E) shell layout match the standard RS-232, RS-422, and industrial control interface pinout — the same footprint used on legacy PC serial ports and PLC communication modules. Gold-plated brass contacts rated 6 A per circuit handle both signal-level and moderate power duty, while the 125 V rating covers the typical voltage range for control and instrumentation circuits.
Board Lock and Grounding Indents
Two features on this connector address mechanical and EMI integrity. For an enclosure that already has a ground plane, these indents eliminate the need for a separate ground strap at the connector.
Solder termination on a right-angle through-hole footprint. The housing/shell includes a 4-40 threaded flange that accepts standard D-sub jackscrews and standoffs, so the connector can be panel-mounted or secured to a mating backshell without special hardware.
Temperature Range and Environmental Fit
The tin-plated steel shell provides EMI shielding and corrosion resistance in humid or mildly corrosive environments, while the gold contact finish — over brass base metal — resists oxidation through repeated mating cycles. This combination makes the connector suitable for field-serviceable equipment where the cable is disconnected and reconnected regularly.
