37.5° Exit, Shielded D-Sub Backshell for 25-Position Connectors
The TE Connectivity 6-1393738-1 is a two-piece plastic backshell designed for 25-position D-sub connectors, with a 37.5° cable exit that routes the cable at a shallow angle off the connector axis — useful when the cable needs to tuck close to the panel or enclosure wall rather than exit straight out. It also fits high-density 44-position D-subs that share the same shell size B footprint, which broadens its utility across different connector densities on the same build. The shell is shielded. The thermoplastic body is molded in gray and comes with the assembly hardware and cable clamp included. Plating on the metal components is nickel over copper, standard for corrosion resistance in industrial cabinet environments. The backshell is ROHS3 compliant, so it clears the material restrictions for EU-market equipment.
Cable Exit Angle and Routing
The 37.5° cable exit is the defining dimension on this backshell. It lets the cable depart at a shallow angle.
Included Hardware and Assembly
The backshell ships with the assembly hardware and cable clamp in the box. The cable clamp secures the round cable jacket to the backshell, transferring pull force to the shell rather than the D-sub solder buckets or IDC terminations. The hardware — typically jack-screws and nuts — fastens the backshell halves together and to the D-sub connector. No separate procurement for these parts; one order code covers the full backshell assembly.
