IDC Termination — What It Means for Assembly
For a 26-28 AWG discrete wire run, this saves a step in harness assembly. The trade-off is that IDC is a one-shot termination: pull the wire out and the slot is deformed, so field rework means replacing the receptacle, not re-terminating it.
